Shane Halley enters his third year with the Marymount baseball program in 2023. Taking over as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator in 2022, Halley currently remains in such role.Â
Halley brings Major League pitching experience to the Saints, along with five years of coaching experience. Most recently prior to Marymount, he was a coach and instructor for Prime Time Baseball, LLC in Alexandria, Va., where he worked with middle school, high school, and college-aged players.
He also has been a staff assistant for the Pete Wilk Baseball Camps at Georgetown University since January.
Halley played baseball at the University of Virginia, as a pitcher and outfielder, from 2008-12. He was a part of two ACC Championship teams and made two College World Series appearances.
In 2012, he was selected in the 20th round of the MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals, where he spent three years as a pitcher. In 2015, he moved to the Colorado Rockies, spending 2015-16 with the organization.
Following his playing career, Halley spent two years in Nanjing, China, as a pitching coach. He helped develop the first Chinese pitchers that signed professional contracts with an MLB organization.
Halley also spent time as a Pitching Coach with the Alexandria Aces in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League.
