Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Marymount lost to Washington College 2-0 on Saturday. The Saints generated all three of their shots after halftime and put one on goal, while Washington College finished with an 11-3 shot advantage.
Mara Dufour made three saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Nicole Alvarado recorded a team-high two shots.
Arianna Blanco placed her lone shot on goal.
The Saints kept Washington College off the board in the first half, with Dufour making a save in the ninth minute as the home side recorded three shots. The Saints earned a corner kick at 11:32 but were called offside twice later in the half. The first half finished without a goal.
Washington College scored at 54:56 and 57:52 to put the Saints behind 2-0 in the second half. The Saints followed with a corner kick at 62:06 and Blanco's shot on goal 33 seconds later, but Washington College recorded a team save. Dufour saved Gina Everitt's shot at 71:07 as the Saints kept the margin from growing, but the match finished as a 2-0 Washington College win.
Up next, the Saints soccer team travels to Baltimore, Maryland, to face Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Athletic Field.
