Marymount opened the scoring in the first half when
Erick Shoetter-Rojas scored at 21:52 for a 1-0 lead. N.C. Wesleyan answered through Jordi Rodriguez at 33:50 to make it 1-1, while the Saints put three additional shots on frame from
Brian Alegria,
Micah Vogler and
Christopher Chicas.
Adam Elonai made three saves, and the teams went into halftime tied 1-1.
The Saints kept a 1-1 match intact under pressure, with Elonai making two saves during an N.C. Wesleyan sequence from 72:00 to 72:48 that also included a shot off the woodwork. MU generated the later chances, as Shoetter-Rojas forced a save at 86:13, missed a penalty kick at 87:05, and Alegria put another shot on frame at 88:58. Neither side scored in the second half, and the match finished 1-1.
