ST. DAVID'S, Pa. -- Marymount flag football secured their third-straight Atlantic East Conference Championship on Saturday at Eastern Univeristy, claiming a semifinal win over Immaculata to start their day, before taking down the #1 seed Eastern in the Championship, 12-7.

Kaylah Barr, bringing them to the Immaculata 2-yard line at 5:04. Vollmer followed with a decisive 2-yard rush, securing a touchdown at 2:54. Marymount's defense then held firm, stalling Immaculata's subsequent attempts to progress. Despite a late false start penalty, the quarter ended with Marymount leading 6-0, which was the final score as the game concluded.
In the third quarter, Marymount seized momentum with Velez's decisive 19-yard touchdown run at 2:07, extending its lead. Earlier in the quarter, Marymount's defense, led by
Ashley Ayala-Mata and
Leslie Villegas, limited Immaculata's advances, including a pivotal stop by Villegas resulting in a flag pull for a loss of six yards. Marymount concluded the quarter leading 12-0.
In the fourth quarter, Marymount seized momentum when Velez executed a crucial 20-yard rush to the Immaculata 2-yard line at 10:08, setting up a strong offensive position. Despite a subsequent interception by Immaculata's Eliana Szatkowski, Marymount's defense held firm, preventing further advancement.
Yariliz Torres contributed with a 14-yard punt return, keeping the pressure on Immaculata. Marymount maintained its lead, concluding the game with a final score of 18-0.

Marymount's defense was effective in containing Eastern, with
Jesenia Velez recording a crucial QB flag pull for a loss on Kira Green, halting Eastern's progress late in the quarter. The quarter concluded without any scoring, maintaining a scoreless tie.

Marymount began the fourth quarter with the ball on its 14-yard line, but an early illegal block penalty pushed it back significantly. Despite
Cara Vollmer's efforts, including a short pass completion to
Kaylah Barr, the team was forced to punt, allowing Eastern to take over at Marymount's 39-yard line.
Marymount's defense responded effectively, highlighted by
Micaiah Pride flagging Kira Green for a 2-yard loss. Later,
Cara Vollmer connected with
Samayah Barnes for a 13-yard gain, but subsequent plays resulted in minimal yardage, stalling the offensive drive.
The final moments saw Marymount maintaining possession, with Eastern calling timeouts to stop the clock, but the score remained unchanged. The game concluded with Marymount securing a 12-6 victory.
