IMMACULATA, Pa. -- Marymount flag football started their season off with a pair of Atlantic East Conference match ups on the road, taking on the hosting Mighty Macs of Immaculata, with a neutral game against Holy Family.
Splitting the day, the Saints move to 1-1 overall and in the AEC to start the season.
IMMACULATAÂ 12 - MARYMOUNT 6
- In her first collegiate outing on the turf, Dakotah Bright-Brubaker rushed for a touchdown, totaling 34 yard on the day. She passed for 77 yards, going 6-for-8 in the air.
- Cara Vollmer racked up 89 yards in the air for the Saints, going 9-15.
- Kaylah Barr picked up 84 receiving yards in the game on five receptions, with a long reception of 34 yards. She added 26 yards on the ground on five carries.
- Samayah Barnes had three catches for 36 total yards in the loss.
- Victoria Johnson led the Saints on the defensive end with seven tackles on the day, with Barr adding five. Both added a broken pass.
MARYMOUNTÂ 14 - HOLY FAMILY 0
- The Saints picked up their first win of the season before heading home in shutout fashion.
- Vollmer threw for 217 total yards with two touchdowns. She added 10 rushes for 54 total yards.
- Alexandria Veltri had seven receptions, racking up 94 yards.
- Barr had a receiving TD, nabbing 10 receptions for 91 total yards in the win. The two-way player added six tackles and a broken up pass.
- Jaylah Thompson notched a receiving touchdown. On defense, she led the team with seven total tackles.
- Samayah Barnes had six total tackles for the Saints in the win.
UP NEXT
- Marymount will begin ECAC play next Wednesday, Mar. 11, at Mercyhurst University.
- They will play the hosting Lakers and Allegheny College twice each beginning at 8:30 AM.
