HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Marymount's men's volleyball team started off their spring break in Harrisonburg, Virginia for two matches against EMU and Roanoke College. The team faced off against Roanoke at 3:00 PM, a game that ended with a win for the Saints (3-1). In their game against EMU the Saints fell short, 0-3.
These scores place the Saints at a 10-9 record.
MARYMOUNT 3 ROANOKE 1
- The Saints dominated over Roanoke, leading in points (66.5), kills (49), aces (8), blocks (9), and assists (46).
- Ethan Li was an offensive beast with 16 kills.
- The Saints knew how to serve, especially Brady Wiggers who dished out three service aces.
- Diego Peña dominated with 43 assists, well ahead of his teammates.
- Both Diego Peña and Gavin Po put up a wall at the net, accumulating four blocs.
- Same Cook led the team in digs with seven.
- Marymount swept the first two sets with ease, 25-17 and 25-19.
- They fell short in set three, with Roanoke claiming a 25-21 win.
- Set four was won in extra points, with the Saints scraping by at 26-24.
EMU 3 MARYMOUNT 0
- The Saints had a tough time against EMU, but held their own with a tying stat of five blocks and a leading stat of 28 digs.
- Despite a 0-3 loss, the team had various stellar performances.
- Sam Cook was tonight's offensive leader with 11 kills.
- Diego Peña led in assists with 29.
- Joseph Roche gave the team their only serving ace of the evening.
- Bryce Schkeeper was a unit at the net with four blocks.
