ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount flag football won twice on Sunday against Holy Family and Immaculata, notching a pair of Atlantic East Conference wins.
They hit the double digit mark in wins on the year, now sitting at 10-2, with a 7-1 record in conference play.

Marymount started the first quarter with a strong defensive stand, highlighted by
Victoria Johnson's two flag pulls. Despite an initial setback from a four-yard loss, the Saints gained momentum with a 14-yard pass from
Cara Vollmer to
Alexandria Veltri, moving the offense closer to scoring.
Later in the quarter,
Jaylah Thompson's interception at Holy Family's 31-yard line set up another opportunity for the Saints, but the subsequent drive ended with a turnover. The quarter concluded with Marymount maintaining a 13-0 lead over Holy Family.
The Saints dominated the second quarter with a strong start, featuring
Jesenia Velez's 40-yard touchdown rush at 13:17.
Jaylah Thompson then intercepted a pass from Holy Family, returning it for a 19-yard touchdown with 12:22 remaining. Another interception by
Kaylah Barr led to a 14-yard return, resulting in a touchdown at 10:05.
Cara Vollmer connected with Barr for a 22-yard touchdown pass at 3:40, and Velez successfully completed the point-after attempt. Despite a late interception, the Saints held a commanding lead by the end of the quarter, finishing with a score of 44-0.
Marymount asserted its dominance in the third quarter with a significant momentum shift when Barr broke free for a 35-yard touchdown run, clocking in at 2:30. Earlier in the quarter, Vollmer connected with Barr on a crucial 10-yard pass, moving the Saints out of a challenging field position. Defensive efforts by
Jordan Avent and
Ashley Ayala-Mata further stifled Holy Family's attempts, contributing to Marymount's control of the quarter. The action concluded with the Saints leading decisively, ending the game with a final score of 58-0.
In the fourth quarter, the Saints' defense set the tone early with
Alexandria Veltri's flag pull for a loss, forcing Holy Family to punt. On the ensuing drive,
Brianna Lee rushed for 8 yards, moving the Saints into Holy Family territory. Despite a series of stalled plays, Marymount's defense remained resilient, with Ayala-Mata and Thompson each recording flag pulls for losses against Holy Family.
The defensive efforts stifled Holy Family's advances, while Marymount's offense managed the clock effectively. With no scoring in the final quarter, the Saints secured a decisive victory with a final score of 58-0.

The game commenced with Immaculata University starting on its own 14-yard line. The Saints' defense held firm, highlighted by flag pulls from
Yariliz Torres and
Jaylah Thompson, limiting Immaculata's gains. Midway through the first quarter, an interception by Immaculata halted Marymount's offensive drive. Despite this setback, the Saints regained possession later in the quarter but were unable to capitalize before the quarter ended with no score from either team.
Velez led Marymount's charge in the second quarter with a 32-yard touchdown pass to Barnes at 13:55, extending their lead over Immaculata. Velez continued to impact the game by successfully completing a rush for the extra-point conversion. Immaculata struggled to gain momentum, with a key defensive stop by
Micaiah Pride halting a potential gain. The Saints maintained their control by effectively managing possession and the scoreboard, finishing the first half with a 7-0 lead.
Marymount's defensive efforts dominated the third quarter, effectively stifling Immaculata's offense. Thompson and
Ashley Ayala-Mata spearheaded a series of flag pulls that pushed Immaculata back significantly, resulting in negative yardage on multiple possessions for the visitors. Despite Marymount's strong defensive showing, the quarter concluded without additional scoring. The Saints maintained their lead, finishing the third quarter ahead 13-0.
In the fourth quarter, Marymount capitalized on a critical turnover when Villegas intercepted a pass from Devan Cosgrove and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown at 7:15. Velez successfully converted the rush attempt, extending the Saints' lead. Immaculata struggled to advance afterward, with their drives stalling and resulting in negative yardage gains. Marymount held strong defensively to maintain their advantage and concluded the game with a final score of 26-0.
