Arlington, Va. -- Marymount's men's volleyball team battled at home this Wednesday evening against tough CVC opponent Southern Virginia University. The game ended with a loss for the Saints with a final score of 1-3.

The loss gives the team an overall record of 11-10 overall and a conference record of 1-2.

NOTABLE

• SVU is no walk in the park and Marymount held their own in a four set match up against their 23-1 opponent. 
•  Marymount secured a total of 46 kills, 20 of which came from Brady Wiggers.
•  Marymount led in assists and digs as a team over SVU, with Diego Peña leading the pack. 
• Mihir Peta and Sam Cook both secured two service aces. 
• Brady Wiggers not only dominated at the net with kills, but also blocks by leading the team with four. 
• The first two sets were lost by the Saints, but not by a large margin. 
• The Saints fell in set one by a mere two points (25-23) while falling in set two by five (25-20).
• The close battle continued with the Saints winning set three in extra points, 26-24. 
• Set four closed out in a similar fashion of set one and two, with a close 25-21 loss.

• The Saints return to the road this weekend to face off against CVC opponent Drew University on Saturday. 
•  The first serve is set for 3:00 PM.
