BASE: Saints Fall in Extras to Ohio Northern

DAVENPORT, Fla. -- Marymount continued their time in Florida on Wednesday, taking on Ohio Northern in an early afternoon match up. 

Falling in extra innings, the Saints move their record to 7-5 overall on the season as they look to finish off their Spring Break trip.

The Saints took an early lead in the first inning. Quincy Via doubled to right field and later scored on an error by the third baseman. Cuadros also scored after reaching on a fielder's choice and advancing on a single by Farmakides. The inning concluded with the Saints leading 2-0.

In the second inning, Thomas Orihuela singled and later scored on a bases-loaded walk drawn by Farmakides, extending the lead. Ohio Northern responded with a two-run homer by Tyler Rinehart, making it 3-2 for the Saints after two innings.

The Saints added to their lead in the fourth inning. After a walk and a stolen base by Via, Cuadros hit an RBI double, and Farmakides followed with an RBI single, pushing the score to 5-2.

The Saints continued their scoring in the fifth inning, with Seth Sadler reaching on a walk and scoring. Tyler Woodring's RBI single brought Swekosky home, increasing the lead to 7-2.

Ohio Northern closed the gap in the seventh inning with a two-run homer by Kyle Callahan, narrowing the Saints' lead to 7-4.

In the eighth inning, Ohio Northern tied the game at 7-7 with a two-run homer by Rinehart and an RBI double by Kyler Lapp.

In the top of the eleventh, the Saints briefly regained the lead when Connor Vick, a pinch runner, scored on a bunt single by Swekosky. However, Ohio Northern secured the win in the bottom of the inning with a three-run homer by Chase Armstrong, ending the game 10-8 in favor of Ohio Northern.
