ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount's men's volleyball team hosted a tri-match this Saturday in Converse Family Fieldhouse. The team looked to defend their home court against Eastern University and Virginia Wesleyan University. 

The team faced off against Eastern University at noon,  which ended with a 3-1 win for the Saints alongside a 3-1 win against Virginia Wesleyan. 

These wins place the Saints at a 7-5 record.

MARYMOUNT 3 EASTERN 1 

• The Saints went toe-to-toe with Eastern University, with all sets being won with a six point lead or less.
• Set one was the set with the largest gap and the Saints won 25-19. 
• Eastern claimed set two with a nailbiting 25-23.
•  Set two was the only one that the Eagles were able to win, as the Saints earned a 25-23 win in set three and a 25-20 win in set four. 
• As a team, the Saints logged an impressive six service aces.
• Brady Wiggers was the Saints offensive leader with 15 kills. 
• Diego Peña logged 34 assists five digs, and one ace. 
• Both Brady Wiggers and Ethan Li led the team in aces with two. 

 VWU 3 MARYMOUNT 1

• Sam Cook was the Saints kill leader against Virginia Wesleyan with 21 kills. 
• Brady Wiggers served two aces and claimed 13 kills. 
• Carlos Morales-Pagan was the teams dig leader with five. 
• The Saints lost set one after a hard fought fight with a 25-23 score. 
• Turning the tables, the Saints won set two 25-23. 
• The next two sets were won by VWU, leaving the Saints with a loss. 

UP NEXT

• The Saints come back to Converse Family Fieldhouse for their next game against Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday. 
• The tip off is set for 7:00 PM on February 11th.
