HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Marymount's men's volleyball competed in a tri-match this Saturday in Huntington Pennsylvania. The team looked to get some wins under their belt during their first face off against Juniata and their second against Cairn University.
The Saint's final score against Juniata came to 1-3 in favor of Juniata. During their second game of the day, the Saints ended with a 3-1 win against Cairn University.
These scores place the Saints at a 8-7 record overall and 0-1 in conference.
JUNIATA 3 MARYMOUNT 1
- The Saints did not go down without a fight, with every set being fought until the end.
- Juniata won set one 25-20 and the Saints answered with a 25-21 win in set two.
- Set three and four were finished out with a 25-19 and 26-24 win.
- First-year Brady Wiggers led the Saints in kills with 14.
- Diego Peña led the team in every other stat with one ace, four blocks, 34 assists, and seven digs.
MARYMOUNT 3 CAIRN 1
- The Saints won the first two sets 25-19, 25-16 and fell short in set three 21-25.
- The team won the match in set four with a 25-23 victory.
- As a team, the Saints led in points (66), kills (49), aces (11), blocks (6), assist (42), and digs (30).
- Noah Sima and Sam Cook were this games leader in kills with both logging eight.
- Diego Peña led the team in aces with six alongside assists with 34.
- Defensively, Sam Cook and Seth Richards both dominated at the net with two blocks.
UP NEXT
- The Saints will take a break before playing Gallaudet University on February 25th in Washington, DC.
- The first serve is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
