After the Saints moved ahead 4-2 on kills by Schoeberlein, Angela McKenzie and Donahue, Centenary (NJ) scored four straight points, capped by a Gabriella Miller ace, to go in front 6-4. Knaub stopped that stretch with a kill, and the Saints took five of the next six points, using three Centenary (NJ) attack errors and a Stackpole kill to move ahead 9-7. With the set still at 11-9, a Schoeberlein kill started an 8-0 Saints run, and Emerson Aber served the next seven points with three aces as the lead grew to 19-9. Centenary (NJ) answered with three straight points, but the Saints kept control late with a block by McKenzie and Donahue, a Craver ace and Donahue's final kill to finish the set 25-14.

The Saints started the third set with three straight points, including a McKenzie kill and an Emerson Aber ace, but Centenary (NJ) worked back to a 9-9 tie.
