ARLINGTON, Va. -- Marymount men's soccer played out a thrilling match against Stevenson this Wednesday evening. The match was the team's second home game of the season and ended with a scoreboard lit up 2-1 in the Saints favor.

The win pushes the Saints a 4-2-2 record.

 NOTABLE

• Marymount's keeper Bayron Banegas helped win the game for the Saint's with 12 saves.  
• Jefferson Lopez Coreas scored the Saint's first goal in the 19th minute with no assist. 
• Erick Shoetter-Rojas scored the goal that gave the Saints the lead in the second half, assisted by Jefferson Lopez Coreas.
• Marymount offense constantly attacked the net, with 14 shots, ten of which were on target. 
• Jefferson Lopez Coreas led the team in shots with seven, five of which were on target. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Saints opened up firing, with Jefferson Lopez Coreas taking a shot on goal within the first four minutes. 
• Marymount Alvaro Valdovinos took a shot less than fifteen seconds later, showing that the Saints applied pressure. 
• Jefferson Lopez Coreas gave the Saints an early lead by scoring a goal in the 19th minute of the game. 
• Continuing to apply pressure, Jefferson Lopez Coreas took another shot on goal in the 23rd minute.
• Alex Rendon Benitez fired one off with no luck in the 28th minute. 
• Stevenson tied it up in the 29th minute with a goal.
• After Stevenson's goal, Erick Shoetter-Rojas, made an attempt with no luck. 
• The first half ended with a 1-1 score. 
• The second half started much like the first, with Jefferson Lopez Coreas taking a shot on goal. 
• To gain the lead, Erick Shoetter-Rojas fired one into the back of the net in the 50th minute after a beautiful cross from Jefferson Lopez Coreas.
• The Saints kept their 2-1 lead throughout the second half and finished with this score.
