Marymount Athletics Announces Hall of Fame Induction Class of 2025

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University Athletics Hall of Fame Committee is proud to announce its Induction Class of 2025, with the recognition for these individuals set for Friday, January 30, 2026.
 
This year's induction includes 30-year head coach for women's volleyball Beth Ann Wilson, Maggie Viniard Choate (Women's Volleyball, Class of 2021), Amanda (Billy) Mudd (Women's Basketball, Class of 2011), Maame (Amponsah) Nyamekye (Women's Basketball, Class of 2011), Chris Watson (Men's Swimming, Class of 2009), and Hall of Friends inductee Jane (McDonough) Tuck (Class of 1967).
 
The inductees will be recognized at a ceremony held on the evening of Friday, Jan. 30, 2026 at Washington Golf and Country Club, alongside being introduced at the home basketball games on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026.
 
Beth Ann Wilson – Head Women's Volleyball Coach – 1993-2023
 
Wilson retired in 2023 after an incredible 30-year run at the helm of Marymount Women's Volleyball.
 
Finishing her career with a record of 521-456 (.533), she was a three-time conference coach of the year and mentored 52 All-Conference selections, nine All-Region recipients, and six All-Americans.
 
Six of her student-athletes are currently in the Marymount Athletics Hall of Fame, seven including Class of 2025 inductee member, Maggie (Viniard) Choate.
 
Wilson remains active in the Marymount Athletics community, attending many events throughout the athletics year and currently works as a realtor for Samson Properties.
 
Maggie (Viniard) Choate – Women's Volleyball – Class of 2021
 
Viniard has been described as one of the greatest setters to put on the Marymount uniform.
 
Garnering AVCA All-America honors in 2018, she was named AVCA All-East Region, VaSID First Team All-State, and All-Atlantic East First Team all in the same year. She followed her impressive 2018 campaign with Atlantic East Specialty Player of the Year honors in 2019, alongside All-AEC First Team laurels.
 
She holds the program record for career assists per set at 9.42, while sitting fourth all-time in career assists at 2,846.
 
She was a prominent member of two Atlantic East Conference Championship teams, making the NCAA Tournament on both occasions, and was a key member of the team that made it to the NCAA Division III Tournament Regional Finals in 2019.

After her graduation, Viniard took a position as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughter in Norfolk, Va.
 
She worked there until her passing in January of 2025 after a courageous battle with Colorectal Cancer.
 
Amanda (Billy) Mudd – Women's Basketball – Class of 2011
 
Billy was a standout student-athlete for Marymount women's basketball during her playing years.
 
She holds the CAC and Marymount single season three pointers record at 95, while also holding the single-game scoring and three-pointer record. She graduated first in all-time three-point field goals.
 
She was named First Team All-Capital Athletic Conference in 2010, alongside VaSID Second Team All-State in the same year.
 
She was a member of three teams that made it to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Billy was a 2010 and 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipient and a member of the CAC All-Academic Team four times.
 
After graduation, she stayed in Virginia and began working at CGI Federal, where she has been for 15 years, working as a Senior Government Consultant.
 
Maame (Amponsah) Nyamekye – Women's Basketball – Class of 2011
 
Amponsah was another member of the 2011 graduating class for Marymount women's basketball that stood out on the court.
 
She currently holds the program record for single-game rebounds with 22 against Frostburg State in 2010, while also holding the single-season record at 358 in 2010-11.
 
In 2011, she was named First Team All-CAC, alongside D3hoops.com All-Region and VaSID All-State. She was also named a D-III News All-American.
 
She added 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-District to her credit and was a four-time CAC All-Academic Team recipient.
 
She was a member of three teams that made it to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Amponsah currently serves as Associate General Counsel at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, as well as being an experienced educator teaching at multiple institutions.
 
Chris Watson – Men's Swimming – Class of 2009
 
Watson graduated as one of the top men's swimmers in Marymount history.
 
A 2007 First Team All-CAC selection in the 200 freestyle, he graduated with program records in the 200 freestyle, the 500 freestyle, the 1,000 freestyle, and the 1,650 freestyle. He remains in the top-10 in Marymount history in all events.
 
Watson was a four-time member of the CAC All-Academic Team.
 
After graduation, he received his Master's Degree from Arizona State University and remains an active member in the United States Army.
 
He currently serves as an Engagement Strategist for the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM).
 
Hall of Friends: Jane (McDonough) Tuck – Class of 1967
 
Tuck will be inducted into the Hall of Friends this year after a long history of support for Marymount Athletics and the University at-large.
 
A member of the varsity field hockey, basketball, volleyball, and swimming teams during her time attending Marymount, she was also a Student Council President during the 1966-67 school year.
 
She served as the Marymount Director of Student Activities from 1968 to 1972, along with being the Class Coordinator for the 1987 reunion and the Reunion Class Chair for the 25th and 50th reunions.
 
She was active on the Alumni Relations Board from 2000 to 2010, alongside being a part of the Marymount Athletics Hall of Fame Selection Committee since 2006.
 
She received the Mother Butler Medal & Bishop Ireton Medal, both prestigious honors granted by the University.
