IMMACULATA, Pa. -- Marymount women's flag football started their first-ever full season of competition on Friday, heading to Immaculata to take on the hosting Mighty Macs and playing Eastern in tri-game fashion.
The Saints took home a pair of wins on the day, starting the season off 2-0.
GAME ONE - MARYMOUNTÂ 45 - IMMACULATA 0Â
- Cara Vollmer went 8-8 in passing with a long of 30 yards, throwing a pair of touchdowns and collecting 148 total yards
- Kaylah Barr led the Saints in rushing with 99 yards, notching a 65 yard run and two touchdowns. On the defensive end, she caught an interception with two tackles.
- Jaylah Thompson had a pair of receptions, collecting 53 yards and a touchdown.
- Clara Detweiler had two receptions on the night, with nine other Saints all nabbing a reception.
- Cara Craig led the Saints five total tackles.
GAME TWO - MARYMOUNTÂ 34 - EASTERN 0
- Quarterback Vollmer picked up 110 passing yards, going 15-for-22, with four touchdowns.
- Barr picked up 41 rushing yards.
- Carly Rivera had nine receptions with four touchdowns. On defense, she had six solo tackles.
- Thompson notched three receptions for 21 total yards.
- Yesly Xante and Ashley Ayala-Mata each had a pair of tackles.
UP NEXT
- The Saints will have their historic home opener next Saturday, hosting the first-ever tri-game in Marymount women's flag football history against Centenary and Immaculata.
- First game is scheduled for 3:30 PM at Bishop O'Connell High School.
