Box Score ASTON, Pa. -- The Saints men's basketball team fought hard, but their season ended in the AEC Championship game this Saturday. In overtime, the Saints lost to Neumann 77-83. Marymount displayed immense grit and talent this season, allowing them to advance to this championship game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- This game was a close one and showed why both teams advanced to the championship.
- The scores were tied eight times, with the lead changing 13 times.
- Miles Phillips was the Saint's top scorer in this championship game, putting up 19 points.
- Reuben McEachern earned three steals, the most of any Marymount player.
- Jase Mosley was a beast in the paint, claiming eight rebounds.
- Marymount secured the first point of the game with a two-point jumper made by Jace Mosley.
- From this point forward, the two teams stayed neck-in-neck during the first half until 10 minutes in.
- With nine minutes left in the half, Neumann had broken away with an 11-point lead.
- Three minutes later and two back-to-back layups by Joshua Hughes later, Marymount caught back up to a score of 22-25.
- By the end of the first half, Neumann led by five points, 32-37.
- Starting the second half behind, Marymount was quick to play catch up.
