CHAMPIONS! Men's Swimming Three-Peats AEC Championships; Women Secure Runners' Up

ST. MARY'S, Md. -- Marymount men's swimming secured their third-straight Atlantic East Conference Championship on Sunday evening, with the women earning runners-up.

DAY FOUR RESULTS
  • Alexandra Pette (2:13.55) and Cara Craig (2:15.41) went gold-silver in the women's 200 backstroke event.
  • Nathan Bruley broke the meet and conference record in the men's 200 backstroke with a time of 1:53.48, good for second all-time in the Marymount record book. Garrett Peck (1:58.28) and Matthew Jones (2:03.08) finished second and third.
  • Lillian Crawley placed second in the women's 100 freestyle event at 54.28, moving her way up to sixth all-time in Marymount history in the event.
  • Luke Claudy placed second in the men's 100 freestyle with a time of 45.70, breaking his own record at the top of history. Carsten Hicks placed third at 47.33.
  • Ella DeNicola earned a bronze medal in the women's 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:37.50.
  • Ryan Faherty (2:06.30) and Evan Pak (2:09.12) finished second and third in the 200 breaststroke. The times put them one-two in the record book.
  • Miah Lopez took home silver in the women's 200 butterfly with a finals time of 2:14.59. Her time of 2:14.48 in the prelims puts her fourth all-time in Marymount history.
  • Alexander Hain (1:55.94), Daniel Caldwell (1:57.41), and Garrett Watson (1:58.37) went one-two-three in the men's 200 butterfly event, all top-10 times in Marymount history.
  • Sydney Runk took gold in the women's 1650 freestyle at 19:11.29.
  • Bruley took silver in the men's 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:30.48, a new school record.
  • The men's 400 freestyle relay team of Luke Claudy, Ryan Faherty, Alexander Hain, and Carsten Hicks broke the meet, conference and school record with a time of 3:08.13, placing first.
  • The women's 400 frestyle relay squad of Miah Lopez, Ilana Hawkins, Cara Craig, and Lillian Crawley grabbed silver with a time of 3:40.46.
DAY THREE RESULTS
  • Carsten Hicks broke his own school record in the men's 100 butterfly, improving his mark in the record book with a time of 49.98. Daniel Caldwell (51.02) and Gavin Keane (51.96) came in second and third, with Caldwell upping his spot in the record book.
  • Garrett Peck placed second in the men's 400 IM event with a time of 4:19.85 in the finals, upping his time in the seventh all-time spot.
  • Miah Lopez notched second in the women's 100 butterfly, coming in at a time of 58.68, putting her second all-time in Marymount history in the event. Payton So placed bronze in the event with a finish of 1:03.17.
  • Lillian Crawley took gold in the women's 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.87 in the finals.
  • Ryan Faherty took gold in the men's 200 freestyle, notching a time of 1:44.93, putting him second all-time in Marymount history. Garrett Watson (1:47.17) and Seth Reinsel (1:47.73) came in second and third.
  • Ilana Hawkins handily won the women's 100 breaststroke with a fourth all-time in Marymount history finish of 1:08.41.
  • Evan Pak took gold in the men's 100 breaststroke, finishing with a time of 57.57, a new school record.
  • Cara Craig (1:01.71) and Alexandra Pette (1:02.45) finished second and third in the women's 100 backstroke.
  • Luke Claudy took second in the men's 100 backstroke event at 51.23, good for a new all-time best in Marymount history. Alexander Hain finished third in the event.
  • The women's 400 medley relay team of Craig, Hawkins, Lopez, and Crawley took gold with a time of 4:01.45, a new meet and conference record, as well as a school record.
  • The men's 400 medley relay team of Hain, Pak, Hicks, and Claudy also broke the meet and conference record at 3:25.02, a new school record.
DAY TWO RESULTS
  • Lillian Crawley posted a time of 5:20.35 in the women's 500 yard freestyle event to claim first place. The time is good for fifth all-time in Marymount history. 
  • Nathan Bruley took second in the men's 500 yard freestyle event with a time of 4:43.06, good for a new school record in the event.
  • Ryan Faherty won the men's 200 yard IM event with a time of 1:55.12, good for second all-time in Marymount men's swimming history and a new meet record. Alexander Hain took second at 1:59.60, seventh all-time in Marymount history.
  • Miah Lopez, after notching a time of 2:14.60 in the 200 yard IM preliminaries for a fifth all-time spot, finished second in the finals with a time of 2:17.24.
  • Ilana Hawkins placed third in the women's 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.67.
  • Luke Claudy took the second spot in the men's 50 yard freestyle at a time of 21.05, upping his time for third in Marymount history.
  • Marymount men's 200 yard freestyle team of Carsten Hicks, Gavin Keane, Alexander Hain, and Luke Claudy won the event with a time of 1:23.86, a new meet and school record.
  • The Marymount women's 200 yard freestyle team of Alexandra Pette, Miah Lopez, Payton So, and Ilana Hawkins placed second at 1:42.57.
