Multiple Saints Set Personal Bests at Marlin Invitational for Track & Field

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Marymount track & field hit the indoor trek again on Friday afternoon, competing in the Marlin Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University.

Setting multiple PR's, with Deziree Conklin-Boone continuing to climb the national leaders in the 60m hurdles, the Saints had an impressive day in just their second meet of the year.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
  • Conklin-Boone put herself 45th in the nation with her performance on Friday, notching a time of 9.18 in the 60m hurdle event. Breaking her standing personal best, she continues to show strong in the early part of the year. 
  • Henry McFarlin (7.62), Clayton Grant (7.68), and Samir Rahman (8.07) each hit personal records in the 60m prelims.
  • In the women's 60m, Emerson Aber (8.75) and Sheyla Inofuente (10.06) each improved their marks in the event.
  • Brier Amerlinck finished top-10 in the women's mile run, finishing with a time of 5:31.16.
  • Bryan Bivens and Clayton Grant each placed in a tie for 10th in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.70m. The mark set a personal record for Grant.
  • Esther Paz finished third in the women's pole vault with a mark of 2.43m.
  • Kyle Falls (12.97m) placed ninth in the men's triple jump, followed by teammate Samuel Struggs (12.85m) in 10th.
UP NEXT
  • The Saints will next compete in the Joe LaRocco Invitational Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Cregger Center hosted by Roanoke College.
