ASHLAND, Va. -- In a physical road battle that saw a total of nine bookings issued, Marymount men's soccer picked up a second consecutive road win with a 3-2 triumph over Randolph-Macon on Friday night.
NOTABLE
- After going winless against Randolph-Macon in the first 12 meetings between the two sides, MU has now won the last two meetings against the Yellow Jackets (Aug. 30, 2019).
- Leonardo Torres finished with five points on the night (2G, 1A).
- Jefferson Lopez Coreas scored the second goal of his career.
- Erick Shoetter-Rojas and Jonathan Guevara both picked up assists to round out the scoring.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lopez Coreas scored in the 10th minute to give MU an early lead.
- Randolph-Macon equalized after securing back-to-back corner kicks in the 21st minute.
- Torres scored twice in an 10-minute window in the second half to push Marymount's lead to 3-1.
- Randolph-Macon got within one in the 88th minute but Marymount held on for the 3-2 road win.
- Liam Sloan entered in relief of Bayron Banegas and recorded seven saves in 69 minutes of action between the pipes.

- "We went into a hostile environment and against what felt like the world, we came out with a great victory. It feels great to win two straight on the road against quality opponents, but we also have to stop shooting outselves in the foot and allowing other people to influence our game."
