Women's Lacrosse Heads Back to AEC Championship with Win Over Marywood

ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount women's lacrosse are back in the Atlantic East Championship after a stout takedown of the Pacers of Marywood in home Semifinal action, 19-2.

The Saints will look to grab the AEC trophy this Saturday for the first time in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Riley Love assisted a pair of goals to Tess Valentino and Bailey Gehler to open the contest to give the Saints a quick 2-0 advantage.
  • Ella Baker and Valentino each put one in the net to close out the first quarter of action to take the game into the second quarter with the Saints up 4-0.
  • Marymount scored seven unanswered goals in the second quarter, highlighted by three from Valentino to give the Saints a big 11-0 advantage after the first half.
  • Edens found Gehler with an open look to open the third, quickly followed by a goal from Baker to keep the momentum going.
  • After the Pacers scored two, the Saints finished out the contest with six goals to secure the big playoff win.
  • Love had five points on five assists, with Valentino adding her five points on five goals. Valentino added a pair of ground balls.
  • Baker had four points on four goals with two ground balls.
  • Edens put up three points with a goal and two assists, adding three draw controls and a ground ball.
  • Gehler had three goals, two ground balls, a caused turnover, and a draw control.
  • Taylor Chepren put in a goal and had an assist on the day.
  • Abby Dunn had two caused turnovers and four draw controls.
  • Hannah Smith earned the win in the goal with 12 total saves, allowing just two goals.
