11 Saints Earn Atlantic East Weekly Awards

4/8/2024 6:30:00 PM

LANCASTER, Pa. - Marymount student-athletes continue to rack up the Atlantic East Weekly Awards, as 11 Saints picked up Athlete of the Week honors from the conference office, announced on Monday.

Shanyn Burch - Softball Pitcher of the Week

Burch pitched a complete game one hit shutout over Cabrini to lead the Saints to the big conference win. She went 7.0 strong with a strikeout.

Jaclyn Burch - Softball Player of the Week

Burch went 5-for-7 in the AEC doubleheader split with Cabrini, driving in three runs while notching three doubles. She currently sports a .429 average at the plate on the season.

Jonathan McMath - Baseball Player of the Week

McMath was a staple in the middle part of the order for the Saints to earn his first Player of the Week accolade as they picked up four Atlantic East wins over the course of last week, sweeping the preseason conference favorites in Immaculata. Hitting .400 through the week, slugging 1.133, McMath powered three home runs and two doubles, including a grand slam in the deciding third game over the Mighty Macs, to collect nine total RBI. The weekend secured the top spot in the conference for the Saints.

Kyle Lewis - Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Lewis put up one of his top outings on the mound for the Saints in the game two win over Immaculata to take the series, ultimately sweeping the Mighty Macs the next day. Coming into the game with the bases loaded and nobody out in the top of the fifth inning staring at a 4-1 deficit, Lewis struck out the next three batters without allowing anymore runs to push momentum to the Marymount dugout.

He finished out the game without allowing a hit, striking out six Mighty Macs, to secure the win and the series for the Saints. He lowered his ERA on the year to 2.08. Marymount sits atop the AEC after the conference sweep.

Adam Stanulis - Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Stanulis picked up Men's Tennis Player of the Week after finishing with a perfect 6-0 record across singles and doubles.

After an 8-4 victory over DeSales at No. 4 singles, Stanulis only dropped two sets in singles the rest of the weekend. At No. 3 doubles, he teamed up with Trung Tran to win in a tiebreak against Immaculata on Saturday.

Fabienne Fritz - Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Fritz completed a 4-2 week across No. 1 singles and doubles. She picked up a pair of impressive wins to help the Saints top DeSales on Friday before a convincing pair of wins against Immaculata.

Deziree Conklin-Boone - Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Conklin-Boone took 15th out of 30 participants, made up of strong Division I competition, in the women's 400m hurdle event with a time of 1:07.95.

Isabella Rivera - Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Rivera notched a strong second place finish in the women's discus at 29.87m. She also finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 9.44m and a seventh spot in the hammer at 27.51m.

Kate Parsons - Women's Golfer of the Week

Parsons ended up as the individual champion at the Dickinson College Spring Invite over the weekend. The sophomore carded a 79-81 (+16) across both days and was named champion due to a tiebreaker over teammate Hunter Gillis (lower score on back nine). Her performance helped the Saints to a team title by 111 strokes.

Jackson Newton - Men's Golfer of the Week

Newton put up T-4 performance, shotting 78 and 75 between both days, to shoot his career low single day and two day aggregate tournament score.

Devon Robinson - Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

Robinson powered 27 total kills across three matches in the Saints' strong efforts last week.
