MLAX: Saints Voted No. 1 in AEC Preseason Poll

2/5/2026 2:00:00 PM

HADDONFIELD, N.J. — Marymount men's lacrosse was voted first in the Atlantic East Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office.

The Saints earned 23 total points and three first-place votes, beating Immaculata by a single point, who also received three first-place votes and totaled 22 points. Marywood followed in third with 16 points.

Marymount is coming off an 11-6 overall campaign in 2025, highlighted by a 4-1 mark in conference play and a return trip to the Atlantic East Championship game.

The Saints return several key contributors from last season, led by Atlantic East Co-Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection Spencer Carfang, along with First Team All-Conference honoree Ian Fructuoso and Second Team All-Conference selection Kanye Otto. Carfang has made an immediate impact since arriving on campus, establishing himself as a defensive anchor after earning Rookie of the Year honors in his first season. He is currently tied for the program record for single-game caused turnovers (6), showcasing his ability to disrupt opposing offenses. Fructuoso was one of the Saints' top offensive threats a season ago, finishing with 38 goals while also ranking among the team leaders in ground balls (40), highlighting his all-around presence on the field.

Santino Rossitto also returns after a strong 2025 campaign, finishing among the team's top offensive contributors with 17 goals and eight assists. A steady presence in the midfield, Rossitto added 10 ground balls and proved to be a reliable scoring option throughout the season. Between the pipes, Jacob Brooks anchors the Saints' defense after seeing significant action last season. The senior goalkeeper appeared in 13 games with 10 starts, recording six wins and totaling 93 saves, providing valuable experience and stability as Marymount looks to build on its defensive identity in 2026.

Head Coach Jon Reynolds enters his 21st season guiding the Saints, continuing to build on the program's tradition of consistency and defensive strength.

Marymount will open the 2026 season on the road this Saturday, traveling to Southern Virginia University for a 1 PM contest.
