DAVENPORT, Fla. -- Marymount men's lacrosse picked up its first win of the season during its spring break trip as the Saints topped Berry (Ga.), 19-13, on the campus of St. Leo University.
NOTABLE
- Bryan Maguire set career highs with six goals and eight points. He also tied his career high with four ground balls and two assists.
- Ian Fructuoso also set career highs with three goals and four points.
- As a team, Marymount won 22-of-34 face offs and also went 3-of-5 on extra man opportunities. One of those EMOs came late in the game as the Saints held on to the ball for the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marymount won the opening faceoff and scored immediately thanks to a tally from Gavin Taylorson (3G, 1 A) and assist from Jack Williams (1G, 3A).
- In a back-and-forth first quarter, Marymount led at the end, 5-4.
- Marymount scored three times in a span of about 30 seconds early in the second quarter, including a run from the circle by faceoff specialist Cameron Glass for his first goal of the season.
- A goal from Mason Vandawater put MU on top 11-8 heading into halftime.
- The teams traded jabs in the third quarter before a pair of man-up goals by Maguire and Santino Rossito early in the fourth gave Marymount a 16-11 lead.
- Marymount continued to excel offensively in the final frame and won by a final score of 19-13.
