LEXINGTON, Va. - Marymount track & field headed down to Washington and Lee University for the annual W&L Carnival over this past weekend.
A couple of strong days led to record-breaking performances, alongside strong showings overall from the Saints.Â
INDIVIDUAL TOP RESULTS
- Brier Amerlinck broke the school record in her 10,000 meter run performance, notching a time of 40:02.96, beating the former record of 42:56.90. With the showing, she qualified for regionals.Â
- Avery Finnegan was another school-record breaker at the event. Notching a time of 5:07.80, she now sits atop the record book in the 1,500 meter event.Â
- Hezzy Ntube, hitting a mark of 39.16m in the discus, broke his own school record that he marked last season.Â
- Deziree Conklin-Boone notched a second place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:06.40, a new top time for Marymount track & field and personal best. She went on to place fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.04m.
- Destiny Noel placed seventh out of 21 participants in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.05.
- Brooke Hamer placed eighth out of 20 competitors in the women's 100m hurdle event, hitting a time of 16.48.
- Ariana Grant put up a third place performance in the pole vault with a mark of J2.93m.
- Marcone Pessoa placed ninth in the long jump, hitting a mark of 6.32m, also notching 10th in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.73m.
UP NEXT
- The Saints will hit the road again next weekend, heading back to the Shenandoah Valley for the Doc Jopson Invitational, hosted by Bridgewater College from Friday, Mar. 22 to Saturday, Mar. 23.
