Women's Basketball Recovers to Top Centenary

ARLINGTON -- Marymount women's basketball responded after falling down early to Centenary in the Atlantic East semifinals on Wednesday night by pulling away with a 70-43 win. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Centenary scored the game's first eight points before MU settled in and tied the game at 14-14 to end the first quarter. 
  • Marymount finally took control with a 16-2 run over the final seven minutes of the second quarter to lead 35-22 at halftime. 
  • The Saints never allowed Centenary to draw closer than nine points the rest of the way as Marymount won, 70-47. 
  • Terra Dzambo recorded her fourth career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. It's her first double-double this season as she set a season-high in rebounds. 
  • Chandler Eddleton was perfect (7-of-7) from the charity stripe as she gritted her way to 15 points. 
  • Symantha Shackelford led the Saints with 19 points and three triples. 
  • Despite only shooting 36.6 percent from the field, Marymount's offense was buoyed by eight 3-pointers and a perfect performance from the free-throw line (10-of-10).

  • Marymount will host No. 3 seed Neumann on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 1 PM in the Atlantic East Championship. 
  • Neumann upset No. 2 seed Immaculata with a 64-54 road win on Wednesday night.
