TOWSON, Md. - Marymount women's soccer earned a hard-fought draw on Wednesday evening in their first match on the road for the 2023 season.

Evenly matched throughout, with a goal from a new face, the Saints move to 0-2-1 in the early season.

NOTABLE

• Leila Ladjel notched the first goal of her Saints career in the 14th minute of the match. 
• The Saints had nine goals in the match, with four being on goal. 
• Laney Placido had three shots on the night.
• Layne Kaufman punched away three saves for MU.
• Allina Mbuko and Eliza Diggs each added a shot on goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• With the Saints putting offensive pressure on the Gophers early on, Lajdel came through to give Marymount their first goal of the season. 
• Strong defense from Marymount helped them maintain the lead heading into the second half. 
• Goucher sank the equalizer in the 51st minute to put the match at 1-1.
• Tough defense from both sides kept the the game evened up until the final whistle, giving the Saints the well-earned draw.
