FREDERICK, Md. - Marymount women's soccer played toe-to-toe with the Blazers of Hood College on Friday evening on the road. 

They fell in the match, 2-1, to drop their record to 1-6-2 on the season. 

NOTABLE

• Anissa Cheikh Had the Saints' goal in the match, her first in the Marymount blue. The goal was assisted by Isabelle Davis. 
• Marymount outshot the Blazers 8-5 in the second half of play. 
• Brigid Sullivan had three shots on the night, two of them on target. 
• Allina Mbuko and Breanna Harkins each added a shot on goal. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Saints came out of the first whistle looking to get their offense moving, but Hood held the offensive advantage for the majority of the first half.
• Hood came through as the time was ticking down towards the second half, notching the first goal of the match in the 45th minute to take a 1-0 lead into the half. 
• Marymount continued to fire shots in the second half of play, itching for one to touch the back of the net.
• Hood furthered their lead in the with a goal in the 75th minute. 
• Cheikh cut the lead in half in the 88th minute, but the Blazers held MU there until the final whistle.

• The Saints will take the trip to Annapolis, Md. on Monday to got head-to-head against Division I Navy at 5 PM.
• Marymount will be back at home next Wednesday, Sept. 27th, against Washington (Md.) at 6 PM.
