Men’s and Women’s Tennis Top Hood, 8-1

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FREDERICK, Md. – Marymount men's and women's tennis both opened up their 2023-24 campaigns with 8-1 victories over Hood on Sunday afternoon.

NOTABLE
  • On the men's side, Adam Stanulis, Trung Tran, and David Zeiler all won their first individual matches in a Marymount uniform.
  • Joshua Nolen added the other singles win for the men's tennis program.
  • On the women's side, Ariane Kombou and Angelica Dalton continued their winning ways from last season at No. 2 doubles with a hard-fought 8-6 victory.
  • Marymount's depth showed in singles as the Saints took No. 2 through No. 6 singles in straight sets.

  2. Dalton (MMW) def. Falzone (HOOD) 6-3, 6-3
  3. DeFazio (MMW) def. Sheffler (HOOD) 6-3, 6-2
  4. Kombou (MMW) def. Mackie (HOOD) 7-5, 6-0
  5. King (MMW) def. Bond (HOOD) 6-1, 6-2
  6. Plotkin (MMW) def. Huffer (HOOD) 6-0, 6-1 
UP NEXT
  • Both programs will square off against Stevenson on Saturday at Virginia Highlands Park in Arlington. First serve is set for 1 PM.
  • The men's team will host Lebanon Valley College on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 AM at the Georgetown Prep Tennis Club in Rockville, Md.
