ARLINGTON, Va. - Marymount women's soccer kicked off their 2023 campaign at home this season, hosting the Shenandoah University Hornets in a Friday matchup at Long Bridge Park.
A tight match going into the second half, three goals by SU gave the edge to the Hornets, giving the Saints the early season loss.Â

- Marymount came out in offensive fashion, putting up five shots within the first ten minutes of the match. A fierce battle in front of the net gave the Saints a strong look at their first goal of the season, but were unable to capitalize.
- Three saves from Kaufman in the final minutes of the half kept the match evened up 0-0 heading into intermission.
- Three goals from the Hornets was the difference maker, with the Saints itching to get something offensive going, ultimately falling in the contest 3-0.
