ARLINGTON, Va. - The #14 Marymount men's volleyball team took care of business on Saturday's Senior Day doubleheader over the Royals of Eastern Mennonite in six-straight sets.
The wins puts the Saints at an overall 19-6 record, improving to 5-3 in CVC play.
Notable
- Hayden Kerekes collected 18 total kills across the two-match day, hitting at a .556 percentage in game two. He added two blocks for 19.5 total points between both matches.
- Zach Jayes had 10 total kills in game two, hitting at a .833 percentage for 10.5 points, adding three digs and a block.
- Grayson Andrews had 37 assists in game one, then adding 15 more in match two.
- Sava Topich notched 23 assists in the second match with six kills, five digs, and a block.
- Devon Robinson had a .348 hitting percentage in match one, collecting 12 kills.
- Diego Peña put up nine kills in the first match of the day, adding seven digs, and two aces.
- Luke Morris notched 10 points in the first match on nine kills and eight digs.
How It Happened
Game One
- Marymount maintained a steady lead in the first match over the Royals, with Andrews finding Morris to notch the final kill of the first set to put the Saints up 1-0.
- The second set was tightly contested, with the Royals staying on the toes of MU throughout.
- A 5-1 run in the latter part of the second set was the difference maker, with the Saints holding on to the lead down the stretch to take set two.
- EMU gave the Saints a run late in the third set, but MU took advantage of a key Royals error to take the opening match of the day and earn the CVC win.
Game Two
- EMU took an early lead in the first set of the second match of the day, but a kill from Topich gave the Saints a 10-to-8 lead.
- MU began to gain momentum through the first set, with a kill from Kerekes being the deciding factor, helping Marymount earn the 1-0 set lead.
- The second set of the match told the same story as the second set of the opening match, with the two teams continuing to trade shots.
- Nick Mariel struck the kill to take set two and give the Saints the commanding lead.
- It took an extra point, but a kill from Jayes and an EMU error was the difference in match two, sending the Saints to the six-straight set win day.

- Marymount has one more regular season contest to go, traveling to Lancaster Bible College next Wednesday with first serve set for 7 PM.
