WINCHESTER, Va. – Marymount men's lacrosse led 3-0 right out of the gate against Shenandoah on Wednesday night but ultimately fell by a final score of 15-9.

NOTABLE

• Ciaran Connolly and Paul Vey both scored two goals.
• Gavin Taylorson, Noah Hill, and Bryan Maguire each had one goal and one assist.
• Taylorson picked up five groundballs and caused two turnovers.
• Matthew Davis recorded 10 saves in 52 minutes of action in the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Saints raced out to a 3-0 lead with 9:41 left in the first quarter.
• Shenandoah scored the next four goals to take the lead back.
• Taylorson tied it on a goal with 3:00 left in the frame, but the Hornets held a 5-4 lead after one quarter of action.
• Vey found the back of the net with 5:34 left in the second quarter but it was the only offense in the period for Marymount as Shenandoah held an 8-5 lead at halftime.
• Connolly's second goal of the day with 12:39 left in the third quarter cut the deficit to two but Shenandoah put together another four-goal run to build a cushion.
• Three Marymount goals in the final frame didn't get the job done as the Saints fell, 15-9. 

UP NEXT

• The Saints will head to Westminster (Pa.) on Saturday, March 18. The game is set to begin at 12 PM in New Wilmington, Pa.
• Marymount will return to Long Bridge Park on Wednesday, March 22 against Hood at 7 PM.
