How It Happened
  • The start of the game was a shot-trading affair, but a three from Peja Boyd gave the Saints their largest early lead at 21-to-14 with just under 12 minutes left in the first half.
  • Cook drove down the lane in the final minutes of the first half to give the Saints an eight-point lead, and with a Cyclones bucket, the two teams went to the locker rooms with Marymount up by six.
  • The Saints kicked off the second half with two three-point plays. Isaac Harris sank a three, with Hockenberry following it up with a driving layup and drawing the and-one. Sinking the free throw, MU began to keep their momentum.
  • A three from Stubbs at the 13:43 mark put the Saints up 61-to-49.
  • Down the stretch, it was all Marymount. James Bell sank a layup in the final seconds to finish off the scoring for both teams, sending the Saints to the decisive victory.
