ARLINGTON, Va. - The Saints hosted the Chargers of Lancaster Bible on Friday evening at home in a non-conference match.
In three-straight sets, MU dominated LBC, taking the match to move to 12-and-4 overall on the season.
Notable
- Diego Peña continued his hot streak, maintaining a strong presence on the offense. Hitting .560, the freshman powered 15 kills in match, adding five digs.
- Devon Robinson collected 12.5 total points on 11 kills and nine digs.
- Hayden Kerekes had two blocks and six kills on the night.
- Grayson Andrews had 38 total assists with five digs.
- MU attacked at .402 in the match, while holding the Chargers to just seven points in the final set.
How It Happened
- Marymount held a steady lead in the first set, looking for the momentum push to take the set. The Saints used a 7-to-1 run, with a kill from Esteban Jauregui at the tail end, to take the first set.
- The Chargers held strong early in the second set taking an 8-to-6 lead. MU went on a seven-straight point run, capped off by a kill from Robinson to retake the lead at 12-8.
- LBC continued to give the Saints fits in the remainder of the second set, but a final blow from Peña pushed the Saints to the 2-0 set lead.
- The Saints opened the third set with a 12-to-1 run to push momentum heavily to Marymount's bench.
- Down the stretch, it was all Marymount as they cotinued to carry the power offense to the end, taking the decisive match.
