Swimming Dominates in Second Straight Week

ARLINGTON, Va. - For the second straight weekend, Marymount swimming hosted a pair of Atlantic East foes in the Lee Center Pool, coming away with solid performances across the board for the Saints.

The men move to 3-0 on the young season, with the women posting a 4-0 record. 

NOTABLE
  • In his leg of the 200 yard freestyle relay, Luke Claudy posted a time of 21.84, good for seventh all-time in Marymount's history. 
  • Ethan White posted a personal best in the 100 yard backstroke with his time of 54.75.

TOP RELAY FINISHES TOP INDIVIDUAL FINISHES
  • First-year Sydney Runk finished first in the women's 1000 yard freestyle event, clocking in at 11:39.34. She also finished first in the 500 yard freestyle event with a time of 5:41.24. For the men in the 1000 yard freestyle, Garrett Peck finished first at 10:52.12.
  • In the women's 200 yard freestyle event, Lillian Crawley notched a first-place finish with her time of 2:03.93.
  • Trevor Cairns (1:49.03), Claudy (1:50.03), and Laine Eary (1:57.14) finished one-two-three in the men's 200 yard freestyle event. 
  • Finishing in the top two spots for the women's 100 yard backstroke, Koerner (1:04.95) and Pette (1:05.08) gave the Saints solid points.
  • White notched his time of 54.75 in the men's 100 yard backstroke to place first, followed by Justin Singletary (56.60) in the second spot. 
  • Srun finished atop in the women's 100 yard breaststroke with a finishing time of 1:11.58.
  • It was all Marymount in the top three for the men's 100 yard breaststroke: Faherty (1:01.29) in first, Evan Pak (1:02.46) in second, and Seth Reinsel (1:07.46) coming across in third. 
  • Ochalik notched a second-place finish in the women's 200 yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:38.90.
  • Daniel Caldwell finished first in the men's 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:03.44, followed by Alexander Hain in the second spot at 2:05.45.
  • Ilana Hawkins (26.71), Cara Craig (27.26), and Payton So (27.92) finished in the top three spots in the women's 50 yard freestyle event. 
  • In the men's 50 yard freestyle event, Hicks (22.88), Gavin Keane (22.97), and Matthew Jones (24.55) finished one-two-three.
  • For the women's 100 yard freestyle event, the Saints went: Hawkins (59.84), Crawley (58.61), and Runk (1:01.96).
  • In the men's 100 yard freestyle event, Marymounts posted: Claudy (49.43), White (49.87), and Singletary (50.52).
  • The women's 200 yard backstroke was all Marymount, with Pette (2:19.24) finishing first, Craig (2:21.14) at second, and Koerner (2:22.05) third.
  • Cairns finished first in the men's 200 yard backstroke at 2:03.00.
  • Srun won the women's 200 yard backstroke at 2:34.67.
  • In the men's 200 yard breaststroke, the Saints finished in the top at Pak with a time of 2:20.31, Reinsel in second with a time of 2:26.45, and Hain in third at 2:30.88.
  • The Saints had the top three spots in the men's 500 yard freestyle event: Faherty (5:02.01), Caldwell (5:05.77), and Peck (5:16.19).
  • The women's butterfly event had Marymount finish top two: Hawkins (1:05.86), Srun (1:06.75).
  • Keane (54.28), Hicks (54.57), and Hain (56.88) finished atop the standings in the men's 100 yard butterfly. 
  • Crawley took first in the women's 200 yard IM event. 
  • Cairns won the men's 200 yard IM with a time of 2:04.43.
UP NEXT
  • Marymount will take qualified individuals to the Patriot Invitational between Thursday, Nov. 16 to Saturday, Nov. 18. 
  • The Saints will also host Goucher College on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 1 PM.
