ARLINGTON, Va. – Marymount swimming took on a busy few days in the Northern Virginia area, sending student-athletes to Fairfax, Va. for the Patriot Invitational, hosted by George Mason University, while also hosting Goucher College in a meet for both the men and women.
Bringing home some strong performances from GMU, the Saints also picked up a pair of wins against the Gophers in the Lee Center Pool Saturday afternoon.
PATRIOT INVITATIONAL NOTABLE RESULTS
- Alex Hain notched a time of 2:00.72 in the men's 200 yard IM event, which is good for eighth all-time in program history.
- Luke Claudy's 21.44 time in the men's 50 yard freestyle – good for third all-time in the record book.
HOME RELAY TOP RESULTS
- The women's 400 yard medley team of Cara Craig, Tidawee Srun, Ilana Hawkins, and Lillian Crawley took first with a final time of 4:20.85.
- On the men's side in the same event, Justin Singletary, Seth Reinsel, Gavin Keane, and Hicks finished with a time of 3:47.88, good for first place.
- The women's 400 yard freestyle team of Craig, Isabella Ochalik, Arianna Koerner, and Sydney Runk won with a time of 4:02.51.
- The men's team of Daniel Caldwell, Garrett Watson, Laine Eary, and Carsten Hicks took first with a time of 3:24.26.
HOME INDIVIDUAL TOP RESULTS
- Sydney Runk continued to show well in the women's 1000 yard freestyle event, placing first yet again with a time of 11:42.46. She also won the 500 yard. At 5:40.49.
- Hawkins took the women's 200 yard freestyle event with a time of 2:09.70. She also took the 100 yard at 58.32.
- Caldwell won the men's 200 yard freestyle event with a clocked time of 1:53.48.
- Arianna Koerner finished atop the women's 50 yard freestyle event, notching a time of 27.21.
- Keane won the men's 50 yard free event (23.20).
- Crawley took first in the women's 100 yard IM at 1:06.27.
- Hain won the men's 100 yard IM at 55.03.
- Isabella Ochalik won the women's 200 yard butterfly, completing in a time of 2:35.32.
- Garrett Peck won the men's 200 yard butterfly at 2:12.80.
- Singletary won the men's 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.51.
- Alex Pette took the women's 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:18.67.
- Trevor Cairns finished with a time of 2:00.55 in the men's 200 yard backstroke.
- Garrett Watson won the men's 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:09.09.
- Srun took the top spot in the women's 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:35.67.
- Resinsel rounded out the individual top spot in the men's 200 yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 2:28.35.
