INDIANAPOLIS — Marymount women's volleyball has learned its NCAA Tournament destination as the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Committee announced the full 64-team field on Monday afternoon.
The Saints will compete in the Huntington, Pennsylvania region and will open against the MAC Freedom champion Stevens on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 4:30 PM. If the Saints advance, they will play the winner of Juniata / Penn State Altoona on Friday at 7:00 PM. The regional final is then slated for Saturday at 7:00 PM. The full schedule can be found

SCOUTING THE REGION
- Marymount and Stevens have played just twice in their history, with the Saints topping Stevens in three sets on Sept. 3, 2022. The Ducks took the first matchup, 3-0, on Sept. 11, 2021.
- Stevens won their fourth straight MAC Freedom championship last weekend with a four-set win over Lebanon Valley.
- Juniata is 29-0 this season and are the reigning NCAA champion. They have won 56 straight matches dating back to last season.
- The Saints were swept by Johns Hopkins (Sept. 20) and Mary Washington (Sept. 1 and Oct. 11) earlier this season.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
- Marymount has won back-to-back Atlantic East championships and are back in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
- Kaitlyn Doyle was named Atlantic East Tournament MVP for her efforts in the championship.
- Last season, the Saints fell to Eastern in five sets in the NCAA First Round hosted by Mary Washington.
- Back in 2019, Marymount topped Randolph-Macon (3-1) and Christopher Newport (3-2) before falling to No. 7 Trinity (Texas) in the regional final, marking the furthest postseason finish in school history.
- This season, Marymount enters the tournament with a 17-14 record, including a perfect 5-0 mark in conference play.
- Four Saints were recently named All-Conference. Kaitlyn Doyle and Myia Jeter both received their second First Team recognition while Mya Bowers and Alexis Franklin received Second Team recognition for the second season in a row.
- Katee Stromberg received the Atlantic East Elite 20 Award for the second season in a row.
- Doyle has amassed 365 kills (3.89 kills/set) and 239 digs on the season to lead the Saints attack.
- Jeter hit an impressive .292 on the full year, while also leading the conference in hitting percentage with .492 in conference matches. In conference play, she averaged 1.18 blocks per set to lead the AEC.
ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP
- At the Huntington regional, single-day passes will be $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students with ID, and $5 for seniors and children from age 3-12. Tickets are cash-only.
- The championship will be held Nov. 29 – Dec. 2 at at Roberts Pavilion in Claremont, Calif., with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps serving as host.
- 42 conferences, including the Atlantic East Conference, were awarded an automatic qualification for the 2023 championship.
- The final 21 berths were reserved for Pool C, consisting of institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not the conference champion as well as independent institutions.
- Based on sport sponsorship numbers for 2023-24, there was one Pool B berth for this year's championship.
