Women's Volleyball Splits Home Tri-Match

ARLINGTON, VA-- Marymount women's volleyball hosted a tri-match today with Marywood University and Bridgewater College. In their senior night match against Marywood, the Saints claimed victory in a 3-0 decision. In a tightly contested match against the Bridgewater Eagles, the Saints fell short in a 3-2 decision.

NOTABLE HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In their match against the Pacers, the Saints claimed the first set 25-23 with notable plays assists from Sydney Sands and kills from Jada Griffith.
  • In the second frame, the Saints kept the Pacers at 11 points with 2 back to back service aces from Sarah Pham as well as kills from Mya Bowers and Kaitlyn Doyle. The Saints took the frame 25-12 with a kill from Maya Harris. Keeping up their momentum in the third set, quick sets from Sydney Sands led to successful kills from Maya Harris and Myia Jeter. Marymount claimed victory over Marywood, 25-18 in a 3-0 decision.
  • In a tight match against Bridgewater, the Saints took the first set 25-23. The Eagles claimed the next two frames 25-21 and 25-15. Forcing the match into a fourth set, the Saints fought hard to claim the frame and take the Eagles into a decision set to 15.
  • Myia Jeter had a great game as she totaled 3 solo blocks along with 3 service aces late in the match. As the Saints pushed back against the Eagles, they ultimately fell short 13-15, with a service ace from Eliza Freeman and a kill by Maya Harris late in the 5th frame.

  • Marymount is now 4-0 for conference play.
  • Traveling to Malvern, Pa. on Wednesday, the Saints will face Immaculata in their final conference match of the season at 7:00 PM.
  • Marymount will close out their season play with a match against Messiah University Friday at 6:00 PM.
