CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Saints women's soccer team traveled to Washington College (Md.) on Sunday for a pre-Labor Day matchup. Despite a tough fought battle, the Saints ultimately fell in the contest by a final margin of 4-0. 

How It Happened

• The match remained at a stalemate of 0-0 until the 29th minute when Washington found the open net for the first goal in the contest. 
• The second half was a tightly contested matchup between the two teams, with just one goal being scored in the final minutes. 
• Grace Needham knocked down two saves in the match. 
• Laney Placido had a shot just narrowly miss in the contest.

• Marymount's next match will be their home opener for the season, hosting Goucher College in a midweek contest on Wednesday, Sept. 7th, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 PM at Long Bridge Park.
• The Saints will be on the road again next weekend, traveling just down the road to Fredericksburg to take on Mary Washington.
