Men's Soccer Blanked by Stevenson

Box Score

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Tasked with its first road test in two weeks, Marymount men's soccer fell to Stevenson on Saturday afternoon, 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Stevenson jumped on the scoreboard first with a goal by Bryant Sievers in the fifth minute.
  • The Mustangs gave themselves a two-goal cushion with a tally in the 69th minute by Joe Nicholson.
  • Stevenson was forced to play the final six minutes with only 10 men after picking up a red card.
  • Nicolas Robles fired a shot on target in the 86th minute but it was saved by Stevenson. That was Marymount's final chance of the day.
  • Both teams drew five corner kicks and Stevenson had a slight 11-8 advantage in shots taken.

HEAR FROM COACH KALIN

  • "Frankly, this was a very poor performance today. We were uncharacteristically poor with our touches and passes and we were never able to compose ourselves. Good teams reflect on bad losses and I hope we will see the positive result of that on Monday."

UP NEXT

  • Marymount closes out a stretch of five home games in six matches with two more dates at Long Bridge Park next week.
  • First up will be a match against Hood at 7 PM on Monday night before the Saints will host York on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7 PM.
