ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University men's tennis team made its debut at home at Virginia Highlands Park on Friday afternoon, but the Saints were unable to find a way past the Marlins of Virginia Wesleyan in a 7-2 decision.

MU battled against the Marlins and took a match in both doubles and singles action.

In doubles, Michael Miller and Dorian Guiot won at the first spot, 8-4. Nicolas Stromberg and Lwazi-Enno Rennert teamed at second doubles and put up a valiant fight with four-set wins. The duo couldn't fend off the Marlins' pair of Timothy Tep and Francis Cabbadu, in an 8-4 decision. At third doubles, Jordan Jake and Nikhil Misra fell, 8-0.

In singles play, MU's lone win came at the third spot in the lineup. Stromberg fended off Timothy Tep, 6-4, 6-3, to win the match. At No. 1 singles, Miller battled in a 6-3, 6-0 loss, while Guiot pushed the Marlins, 6-2, 6-4 at the second spot.
