Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. --The Marymount University women's basketball team bowed out of the Atlantic East Conference Championships on Wednesday evening, as Gwynedd Mercy University managed to best the Saints, 70-59.
The Griffins supplied a consistent attack inside of Converse Family Fieldhouse with a 40.7% mark from the floor and 32.1% mark from beyond the arc. The Saints outscored the visitors in the paint, 22-20, but Gwynedd Mercy's hot shooting made the difference. MU made a late push, as the Saints outscored Gwynedd Mercy, 22-19 in the final quarter, but it wasn't enough to overcome a slow start.
On offense, the Saints were led by the duo of Chandler Eddleton and Terra Dzambo. Eddleton poured in a team-best 18 points and finished with a double-double after she grabbed 11 rebounds. The sophomore also added three assists and two steals to her stat line. Dzambo joined Eddleton in double figures with 13 points and three rebounds.
Claire Smith led Marymount on the boards with 13 rebounds and a pair of steals. Anna Schools added nine points and two rebounds off the bench.
