Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University men's basketball team punched its ticket to the Atlantic East Conference Championship game in high-flying fashion on Wednesday evening, as the Saints dominated Immaculata University, 84-62.
The Saints offense was on fire inside of Converse Family Fieldhouse with a 46.6% mark from the floor throughout the contest. The Blue and White had six players finish in double figures as they attacked the Might Macs from multiple angles throughout the contest. The Saints led for a whopping 36:04 of the tilt and took the lead for good in the first half off a 3-pointer from Zamir Clifton.
While Marymount's offense hummed against the Mighty Macs, the Saints' defense pestered the visitors for the full 40 minutes. MU forced Immaculata into 20 turnovers, which translated into 26 points for the Saints. Xavier Reaves was the main culprit, as the senior tallied a game-high five steals.
Wyatt Hockenberry led all Marymount scorers with 15 points and a 50% field-goal percentage. Reaves, Montell Cooper, and Clifton all finished with 12-points apiece. Cooper added a team-best seven boards, while Reaves and Clifton each grabbed six rebounds.
Marcus Stubbs and Miles Brown rounded out the Saints' double-digit scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Nick Rivas orchestrated MU's offense with a career-high seven assists.
The Saints' season continues Saturday, February 26, when they host Neumann University in a battle for the Atlantic East title. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
