SALISBURY, Md. -- The Marymount University women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its schedule on Sunday afternoon against Salisbury University.
The Saints fought hard throughout the match, but the Sea Gulls proved to be too much to overcome in a 9-0 decision.
Angelica Dalton and Caroline Haymans battled at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Dalton pushed Salisbury's Veronica Cuellar in two sets but ultimately fell, 6-1, 6-2. Haymans challenged the Sea Gulls Sarah Dover but dropped a 6-2, 6-2 match.
In doubles action, Ariane Kombou and Haymans teamed at No. 2 but were bested, 8-1.
The Saints return to action on Saturday, February 26, when they battle St. Mary's College (Md.) on the road at 1:00 p.m.
