ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University women's basketball team closed out the regular season in style on Saturday afternoon with a 72-33 drubbing of Atlantic East Conference foe Neumann University. 

The Saints were dominant against the Knights from the start of the contest, as the Blue and White opened the game with a 12-0 run. While Neumann took a lead at the end of the first quarter, Marymount's offense erupted for 24 points in the second frame. While the Saints' offense flowed during the quarter, they allowed the Knights to score just two points. MU's big second quarter kept Neumann at bay for the remainder of the contest, as the Saints led the tilt for a whopping 35:59. 

The Blue and White controlled the paint on both ends of the floor, with a 36-8 advantage in points in the paint. On the glass, Marymount ended the contest with a 42-23 advantage in rebounds. 

Marymount was led once again by Chandler Eddleton, who finished the game with an impressive 25-point 10-rebound double-double. The sophomore shot 9-for-13 from the floor and added three steals on the defensive side of the ball. It marked the eighth-straight game the sophomore has scored in double digits. Symantha Shackelford finished in double figures as well with 14 points and a game-high six assists. Claire Smith and Samantha Bulik chipped in with six points and five points, respectively.

With the No.-1 seed in the Atlantic East Tournament locked up earlier in the week, the Saints await their opponent for the semifinal round of the conference tournament on Wednesday, February 23. Tip-off for the contest is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
