LEXINGTON, Va. – Marymount women's basketball fell behind early on Thursday night at Washington & Lee before dropping the game, 78-68.

NOTABLE

• The Generals moved to 8-3, while the Saints fell to 10-2.
• Terra Dzambo dropped a career-high 35 points in the loss, going 6-of-12 from beyond the arc.
• Claire Smith had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Marymount only scored two field goals in the first quarter and trailed 19-6 after the first 10 minutes.
• The Generals extended their lead to 42-19 at halftime.
• In the third quarter, Washington & Lee extended its lead to as many as 28 points en route to a 67-40 lead after the frame.
• Marymount outscored W&L 28-11 in the final period to cut the deficit to nine with 1:09 to play.
• W&L made enough free throws down the stretch to hold off Marymount, 78-68.

• Marymount will open Atlantic East play on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 6 PM at Cabrini.
