ARLINGTON, Va. - The Marymount University men's basketball team faced off against Immaculata University on Wednesday evening and despite a strong start, the Saints fell to the Mighty Macs by a final score of 76-62.

The Saints started the game off on a roll with a six-point run. Senior Roey Stern made the first basket of the game with a layup in the first 20 seconds of play. Miles Brown capped the run with a layup as Marymount capitalized on a rough start for the Mighty Macs. 

As time rolled on, Marcus Stubbs knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Saints a 21-9 advantage. Despite the lead, the Mighty Macs chipped away and eventually retook the lead with around eight minutes left in the half. Wyatt Hockenberry had the final say for the Blue and White in the period with a layup, but the visitors took a 37-29 lead into the second half. 

The second half started slow for both teams with only six points scored in the first four minutes. The Saints fought to catch the Mighty Macs who shot at a 47.4% clip from the floor in the second half. The consistent offense from the visitors and a cold snap on the offensive end for the Saints made the difference, as MU was unable to mount a comeback. 

Hockenberry led the Saints in points with 11 and led the game in steals with four. Xavier Reaves finished with eight points and a team-best nine rebounds. Stern also finished in double figures with 10 points. 

The Saints return to the court on Saturday, January 29th, to face the Salisbury University Sea Gulls at 3:00pm inside of Converse Family Fieldhouse.
