Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Marymount University women's basketball team was unable to fend off Immaculata University on Wednesday evening as the Saints fell by a final score of 81-69.
The tilt was a back-and-forth affair that featured six tied scores and six lead changes. The topsy-turvy nature was evidenced on both sides, as the Saints ended the game with a 47.2% field goal percentage, and the Mighty Macs registered a 49.1% clip. A big fourth quarter from visitors Mighty Macs made the difference, however, as the visitors posted 28 points in the final 10 minutes.
Immaculata shot 58.3% from the floor down the stretch to keep the Saints at bay. While MU found its shooting touch in the final frame as well with a 54.5% mark, Immaculata found its way to the line 17 times and converted at a 76.5% clip to keep one step ahead.
MU's offense was a balanced effort, as five players reached double figures. Terra Dzambo led the way with 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting. Ava Achtyl, Symantha Shackelford, and Claire Smith all finished with 11 points. Shackelford added a team-high seven rebounds. Chandler Eddleton rounded out the offense with 10 points.
The Saints return to action on Wednesday, February 2, when they trek to Hackettstown, New Jersey to take on Centenary University at 6:00 p.m.
