Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- The Marymount University women's volleyball team earned its second consecutive victory on Friday evening with a 3-0 win over Lebanon Valley College at the Garnet Quad Tournament on the campus of Swarthmore College.
It was all Marymount (4-2) throughout the contest, as Lebanon Valley (2-3) couldn't keep pace with the Saints' offensive production. MU produced its most efficient performance of the season with a team attack percentage of .344. On the opposite side of the net, Marymount's seven blocks held the Flying Dutchmen to a paltry .015 attack percentage.
After a slower offensive start in the first set, MU exploded in the second and third frames, with hitting percentages of .476 and .417, respectively. Marymount's two-sets-to-none lead led to a 25-13 victory in the final set of the evening. After Lebanon Valley pulled within five at 18-13, the Saints rattled off seven consecutive points to close out the frame. The highlight of the close-out run came on the very last play, as Elissa Munsterman and Kaitlyn Doyle combined for a huge block to seal the win.
Rookie Maya Harris paced Marymount with eight kills, which matched her season-best. Munsterman finished with six kills and a tidy .333 attack percentage. Natalie Garbalosa tallied a match-high-tying nine digs.
Marymount is back on the court for a pair of matches on Saturday, September, 11. The first match of the day against Swarthmore is set for a 10:00 a.m. start, while the second match against Stevens Institute of Technology is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
