Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. – The Marymount University women's soccer team took on Shenandoah University on Saturday, falling on the road, 3-0.
Shenandoah attacked early with a shot just 40 seconds into the game, but freshman goalkeeper Mary Mac Bradshaw was up to the challenge, turning away the attempt.
Senior Sita Nair tallied the Saints' first shot, putting her try to the bottom right of the goal, but Alyssa Brown was there for the Hornets to keep the game scoreless.
The Hornets kept the pressure on with 13 shots in the first half, but the MU defense remained strong. The game went to the break in a scoreless tie, as Bradshaw made two saves.
Shenandoah broke through just 72 seconds into the second half with its first score. The Hornets added goals in the 55th and 73rd minutes.
Junior Mia Londregan put another attempt on goal for the Saints, as they looked to battle back, but Brown was, again, there for the stop.
Bradshaw played all 90 minutes in goal, making six saves.
Marymount will travel to Wesley College on Wednesday, March 17 for a 7 p.m., contest for its next game.
