ARLINGTON, Va. – The Marymount University women's soccer team fell in Atlantic East Conference action on Saturday to Marywood University, 3-0, at Long Bridge Park.

Marywood took advantage of a corner kick early in the game, finding the back of the net just 3:45 into the game.

The Pacers looked to double their lead at the 10:32 mark, but freshman goalkeeper Grace Needham was up to the challenge, coming up with the save for the Saints.

Needham finished the first half with two saves, turning away Marywood's third shot-on-goal, as well, to keep the score, 1-0 at the halftime break.

Marywood struck quickly, again, in the second half, pushing its lead to 2-0 just over three minutes into the frame.

The Saints looked to get back into the game, as junior Laney Placido just missed with a shot off of the crossbar. Freshman Jessica Bui followed with a shot directed to the bottom-right corner of the goal, but Marywood's Rebekah Becker was there to make the stop.

Sophomore Mary Mac Bradshaw came in at goalkeeper in the 65th minute and was immediately tested by the Pacers, but stood strong with a save.

Marywood tacked on its final score in the 81st minute to close out the match.

Needham played the first 64:19 in goal, while Bradshaw came in for the final 25:41, as both made two saves in the game.

The Saints will return to the pitch on Wednesday, October 13 on the road at Gwynedd Mercy University in Atlantic East play. The opening kick is set for 6 p.m.
